THE HISPANIC AMERICAN AND THE AFRICAN AMERICAN
COMMUNITIES UNITE OVER THE UNFAIR
REDISTRICTING ISSUE IN BROWARD COUNTY
The African American community and the Hispanic Community have joined forces and filed a joint federal lawsuit,
in response to the unfair treatment the Broward County Board of County Commissioners
have given to the redistricting issue.
A press conference was held on Wednesday, April 18th, 2012, at 8:00 a.m, at The Broward County Governmental Center, 218 Southwest 1st Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301.

The lawsuit was filed by Robert Vaughan and Johnny McCray Jr., who are representing the African American interest, along with the Montero Law Center and the Reyes Law Group, which are representing the Cuban Americans for a Better Florida, The Hispanic Vote, and the interest of the Hispanic community. Details on the lawsuit were discussed at the press conference.
