Miami, Florida, November 20, 2013. Florida State Senator Dwight Bullard, D-39, has endorsed healthcare leader, entrepreneur, and U.S. Army veteran Daisy J. Baez for Florida State House of Representative District 114. The district encompasses parts of West Miami, Coral Gables, South Miami, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, and Cutler Bay.
“I support and endorse Daisy for State Representative because we need leaders in Tallahassee who will work to strengthen public education, access to affordable health care for all, and economic development that creates good jobs,” said Senator Bullard. “Daisy’s leadership, experience, and passion for public service, will be an asset in the state legislature to the residents of District 114 and all Floridians who need sound policies to manage our taxpayers’ resources and create opportunities for all.”

Baez was born in the Dominican Republican and moved to the U.S. as a teenager in search of a better future. She served honorably in the United State Army and went on to become a successful businesswoman, health care executive, community leader, and proud mom.Baez began her journey of service to her country when she joined the Army, serving in the First Cavalry Division where she earned numerous awards and accolades, such as the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Following her passion for community service, Baez founded the Dominican Health Care Association of Florida and leads it as its Executive Director, serves on the Board of Directors of the Merrick House Museum of Coral Gables, and is the president of the Miami-Dade County Democratic Hispanic Caucus.
If elected, Baez will become the first Dominican-American State Representative in the state of Florida.
