Today is the 1st stage of the Tour de Force Police Charity bicycle ride from North Miami Beach to Daytona Beach Shores. This is a charity that I started along with several other officers back in 1997 in remembrance of Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Robert Smith. This ride covers over 270 miles during the 5 day tour of Florida.
My brother Craig Catlin stepped up to the plate and took over running the Tour back in 2009 and has done an amazing job keeping this charity going with the assistance of many other officers and citizens.  All proceeds raised are distributed to the surviving family members of Florida officers lost in the line of duty.
If you wish, you can make a donation to the Florida Tour de Force as ALL proceeds are paid out to surviving family members. I am preparing for training in Nashville this coming weekend and won’t be able to attend this year’s ride. I have tagged everyone that I know who has participated over the years by either riding or providing escorts. I am sorry if I missed anyone.
God bless the riders and may they have a safe journey.  For they keep the memories of Robert Smith and all of the fallen eternal.
“Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God.”
