Commissioner Holness and Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Pres. & CEO, Bob Swindell.
Lauderhill, FL – March 7, 2014- Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness and Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance President and CEO, Bob Swindell, were the guest speakers at this month’s Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast.   This month’s meeting, which was the 123rd monthly networking breakfast, was held at Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium, in which both Commissioner Holness and Swindell discussed how the real estate and construction industries are impacting Broward County.

Swindell discussed the construction and growth at Port Everglades, the 4,000 residential units to be built in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and American Express’s plans for a new $200 million, 400,000 square foot space in the City of Sunrise.  From Broward County’s perspective Commissioner Holness discussed plans for the convention center headquarters hotel, the new Broward County Courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and also touched upon the construction at Port Everglades.

Founded in 2004 by Commissioner Holness, the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) is a non-profit organization that exists to support the growth of area businesses, helps to attract and establish new businesses, and fosters a healthy and inclusive business environment. Moreover, LRCC improves quality of life through responsible, sustained leadership on community and regional issues of relevance to its members.  With now over 300 businesses as members, LRCC is one of the most diverse chambers in Broward County.

“The Lauderhill Chamber is near and dear to me, for many reasons, anytime I have an opportunity to assist them, I will.  One of the many reasons I started the Chamber was to establish a source for small businesses to learn how to grow their businesses and achieve economic growth and development,” said Holness.
